Why Should I Spend My Hard-Earned Money On Floor Mats?

Floor mats help shield your upholstery from everyday wear-and-tear and keep your interior in pristine condition. Driving with a set of floor mats under your feet can:

  • Protect against unpleasant stains that harm the appearance and value of your vehicle
  • Stop spilt sodas, fumbled coffees and mishandled snacks from staining your carpet
  • Provide year round protection against even the most severe weather conditions
  • Trap mud, water, road salt and sand before it gets ground into your flooring
  • Prevent wear, snags and rips caused by foot friction

Best of all, every floor mat that AutoAnything carries is either custom-designed or semi-custom designed for a perfect fit in your vehicle.

A quick word about the fundamental advantage of custom-designed floor mats

Most of AutoAnything's floor mats are custom-designed for the exact year, make and model of your vehicle. They provide maximum coverage for your vehicle without covering up any of your floor controls, like that gas tank release lever that sees way too much action.

Keep in mind, custom-design does not mean merely matching those 1-size-fits-all stock floor mats that came with your vehicle. Our floor mats give you a precise fit that is arguably better than the cookie-cutter, low grade car mats that your dealer gave you.

Our floor mats and floor liners come either as a single 1-piece or a 2-piece design. While most mats for your front seats are 2-piece designs, some trucks with flat floorboards and without a 4 wheel drive shifter use a 1-piece setup. In the backseat, the mats are usually 1 continuous piece that rides from door to door. You should note, though, that neither design offers a fundamental advantage over the other. Both styles provide outstanding protection for your flooring.

Two of our floor mats, the Husky Heavy-Duty Floor Mats and the Weathertech Floor Mats, are semi-custom-designed. What this means is that these particular floor mats fit snugly in your vehicle, and in various other makes and models, too. Just as GM and Ford reuse the same floor plan in multiple cars, trucks and SUVs, so Husky and Weathertech follow suit. These floor mats are anything but the dreaded 1-size-fits-all floor mats that Wal-Mart is trying to pawn off on its unsuspecting customers. They still fit expertly, and the manufacturers have over 50 patterns to match your floor with great accuracy.

Floor Mats: A Beginner's Guide

Learning about floor mats is not as mentally challenging as studying quantum mechanics, but there is some key information to go over before making a decision. When you have all the facts, you are in a better position to choose the ideal set of floor mats for your vehicle. In this preliminary section, we'll take a quick look at 2 crucial questions:

  • What do floor mats protect against?
  • What is the difference between all-weather and carpet floor mats?

Common Carpet Hazards

Simply stated, your vehicle's carpet has many sworn enemies who'll stop at nothing until they have transformed your once immaculate interior into a repulsive, stained and tattered mess. Here's a quick list of some of the most common flooring foes:

  • Mud, moisture and grime that are tracked-in on shoes, and then ground deep into your carpet.
  • Sticky sodas, boiling coffee and on-the-go meals drenched in condiments that spill, stain and become permanent additions to your floorboards.
  • Foot friction caused by entering, exiting and shifting about in your seat.
  • Gum on your shoes that transfers to your flooring and dries into slabs of minty concrete.
  • Crud, muck and filth that catch a ride on our shoes and end up smearing all over your nice, new and expensive vehicle interior.

Tips on understanding the relationship between where you live and what floor mats will give you the right protection

Stop stains with new floor matsNorth, South, East and West. Each region has its own unique weather patterns that call for different types of floor mats. If you live in an area with temperamental weather conditions, you'll want all-weather floor mats or floor liners that will fully shield your carpet from muddy galoshes and snow-covered boots. Residents of the sunny Southwest, whose weather only fluctuates between dry and drier, can feel confident about carpet floor mats.

All-Weather vs. Carpet Floor Mats

Which Floor Mat Is RightWhatever you do in your car, wherever you live, however many passengers you have riding along, we have floor mats to cover your particular needs. To make the selection process as easy as possible, AutoAnything has divided our floor mats into two major categories: all-weather floor mats and carpet floor mats. While each category offers high-quality options for your vehicle, they provide different levels of defense.

An overview guide to all-weather floor mats

Constructed from heavy-duty rubber, pliable vinyl or thermoplastic, all-weather floor mats put up an extreme defense against mud, snow and other shoe-born grime that inevitably find their way onto your floorboards. Whether you work out of your vehicle or just play in it, the all-weather floor mats give you a virtually indestructible barrier between your carpet and the world. Not only that, they are also incredibly easy to clean—just give them a quick bath with a hose, and they're as good as new.

An overview guide to carpet floor mats

Stitched together from durable nylon and Berber yarns, our carpet floor mats are soft to the touch, but put up a hard line of defense against your floorboard's enemies. Not only do these floor mats replace the ones that came with your vehicle, they're thicker and heavier to provide added protection and a longer life-span. Because the carpet floor mats come in a vast selection of colors, you are sure to find the right shade to match your interior. On top of color selection, you can further personalize your floor mats by embroidering either logos or your own personal catch-phrase.
